Evidence from planning seasons, not star ratings

Sponsors describe specific constraints — disputed betterments, messy CIP, committee calendars — and what changed once the plan was signed.

We finally stopped redrawing the CapEx sample three times because facilities and finance disagreed on betterments. The planning memo forced that argument into week one.

Mei-Ling Hsu, Group Controller — logistics operator, Taichung

The population cleanup found credit notes still sitting in the maintenance extract that would have skewed monetary unit sampling. It took longer than our AP team expected, which I mention because the first estimate assumed cleaner files than we had.

Daniel Orth, Internal Audit Lead — food processing group

Committee briefing stayed under thirty minutes. Directors asked about landlord recoveries; the speaker notes had the netting method ready. That alone justified the pack.

Yu-Ting Chen, CFO office — retail property portfolio

Mapping review for two entities was straightforward. We did not need the full flagship engagement that year, and InteliInfra did not push us into one.

Karen Wu, Assistant Controller — electronics assembly

Case note: Multi-site plant CapEx, central Taiwan

A manufacturing group with four plants asked for infrastructure spend audit planning ahead of a board review of a roofing and HVAC program. Prior-year fieldwork had sampled mixed maintenance and capital invoices as one population.

We ran a category workshop, split populations by timing, and excluded insurance recoveries with a documented log. The signed plan fed internal audit’s Q1 testing; statutory auditors accepted the sampling rationale without redesign.

Constraint worth naming: CIP conversion mid-period required an extra week and a cut-off rule the plants had not previously written down.
